The CICM Second Part Paediatric Examination tests the clinical practice of paediatric intensive care medicine: the assessment, investigation, and management of the critically ill child. It is the final barrier exam for the paediatric pathway to Fellowship. The exam is held once a year and is criterion-referenced; CICM publishes per-sitting examiner reports with component results and an Angoff-derived written cut-off rather than a single headline pass rate. PRIMEX is built by Dr Jay Marshall, an anaesthetics registrar in Taree, NSW.
